Insulation specialist Actis has expanded its technical team with the appointment of a builders’ merchant and specification manager exclusively focused on the East of England

Rob Bralee, who has held roles as assistant branch manager at a Cambridgeshire builders’ merchant and managed sales of various construction and roofing products over the years, joins the expanding specification team to work with architects, building control officers and energy assessors across the wider East Anglia region.

He will be working closely with regional sales director Steve Ellis and area sales manager Jerrell Paton in supporting construction professionals aiming to achieve optimal energy efficiency while also combatting overheating in homes – a clever and essential balance achieved by using Actis’ reflective products.

Rob is one of many former teachers who have joined Actis

Like several other Actis colleagues, including Steve Ellis and northern area specification manager Amaret Chahal, self-confessed gaming nerd Rob began his career in teaching, but found construction sales more suited to his passions.

He is chomping at the bit to get involved in more projects in the area.

“The East of England has so much potential for Actis and so many unique projects I’m keen to sink my teeth into,” he said.

Bringing builders’ merchant experience to Actis’ insulation offering

Actis UK and Ireland sales director Mark Cooper added: “With the addition of our new two-in-one Eolis HC to the Actis stable and tightening building regulations we are seeing more and more enthusiasm among the construction industry for our products.

“As well as the need for greater thermal efficiency and reduced thermal bridging under Part L, architects need to address Part O, which obliges them to minimise heat gain in buildings. As our products address both these issues, with Eolis HC, for example, reflecting 95% of infrared radiation, it’s not surprising we are seeing increased interest.

“As well as helping architects and specifiers on the ground our specification team also present our popular RIBA-approved CPD training courses, enabling us to educate the current and next generation of construction industry professionals.”
