Ramboll UK is establishing a new managing director as the current director is promoted to head of environment and health division

Ramboll UK has announced that the current managing director, Phillipa Spence will become the head of environment and health division.

In this role, she will manage one of Ramboll’s most lucrative markets in environmental consultancy, and developing Ramboll’s strategy to improve their environmental and sustainable practices.

She will also continue to chair the Environment Industries Commission (EIC). She will take on her new role on 1 August 2024.

Neil Sansbury has been promoted to Ramboll managing director

Current Ramboll finance director Neil said: “I’m looking forward to leading the UK and Ireland business. It’s an exciting time for our industry with early promising signals from the new government on a variety of matters.

“Bringing stability and confidence to the market with the green energy transition, establishing Great British Energy and the National Wealth Fund, planning reforms. These initiatives and other clear policy signals are essential for the UK’s growth and decarbonisation ambitions.

“Our significant investments into sustainability means we are well placed to support clients in the green transition, I have no doubt that the next five years will be transformational for our industry.”

Spence said about Neil: “He has worked alongside the UK executive to empower our people to deliver innovative and leading solutions that support the transition to a more sustainable society, whilst creating a culture in which our people can grow and flourish.”

Sansbury has been with Ramboll for nearly a decade

Having joined Ramboll in 2016, Sansbury was extremely influential in guiding the company through various hardships in Britain, including the COVID-19 pandemic, and Brexit.

During Neil’s time as finance director, Ramboll saw an increase in sustainable growth, and the company’s highest ever revenue, a trend that they hope to see continue with his new appointment as Ramboll’s managing director.

This comes as the latest in Ramboll reorganising their leadership, after the appointment of Lora Brill as head of sustainability for buildings in January.
