Chris Edmonds has been hired as the new South Wales regional director for Tilbury Douglas, and housebuilding firm Honey announces several new leadership appointments
Chris Edmonds has been appointed as the new South Wales regional director for Tilbury Douglas, following the retirement of Carl Read, whose career at the UK-based building, infrastructure, engineering and fit-out company spanned almost 40 years.
Edmonds will lead the £130m refurbishment of Prince Charles Hospital
Edmonds began his career at Tilbury Douglas in 2006. He has progressed through the company across a series of roles and was most recently the regional operations director for South Wales.
Edmonds also spent five years leading the £130m refurbishment of Prince Charles Hospital in Merthyr Tydfil.
“With an extensive experience of the business and region, having been with Tilbury Douglas for many years, it is great to see Chris promoted to the role of regional director. I am confident that he will continue to develop and grow the region,” said Simon Butler, managing director of building central at Tilbury Douglas.
“We wish Carl all the best for his retirement and thank him for all his years of commitment to the business,” he concluded.
Honey makes leadership appointments to support ongoing growth
The housebuilding firm announced the appointment of Anne Bagshaw as a sales marketing director. Rebecca Vaughan joins as a sales advisor, and Luke Hewitt has been hired as head of construction.
James Peace also joins as the new architectural manager, and Mark Robinson joins as the site manager.
Aside from James Peace, all the appointments have arrived from Avant Homes.
Honey recently submitted plans to deliver its first two housing schemes
The former CEO of Avant Homes, Mark Mitchell, launched Honey last year. Honey is funded by the private equity firm Alchemy Partners and its Alchemy Special Opportunities Fund IV. Alchemy has £937m of fully committed capital ready to invest.
The company’s first schemes include a £14m development in South Normanton, Derbyshire, called Amber, and a £23.5m development on Barnburgh Lane, Barnsley, called Iris. The projects will provide a total of 145 new two, three and four-bedroom homes.
Each Honey home will include bi-fold doors, fully integrated kitchens, and boutique-style bathrooms with a signature free-standing bath. The houses will also accommodate the Future Homes Standard, which requires all homes being built from 2025 onwards to produce 75-80% less carbon emissions.
“I know from experience the capability and ambition of Anne, Rebecca, Luke, James and Mark, so I am very pleased they have joined Honey as we embark on our housebuilding journey,” said Mark Mitchell.
“These latest hires mean we now have a complete management team across sales, build, technical, land, finance and commercial, providing us with resources and skills we need to accelerate our growth plans,” he continued.
