The Truro-based Duchy Plant Hire Ltd will appoint administrators, leaving the fate of its 400 construction machines unknown
Duchy Plant Hire operates across Cornwall, Devon and the South West of England.
According to the website, the firm employs an “80-strong team of specialists”. It is unknown how they will be affected by the appointment of administrators.
Accounts suggest this number has halved in recent months and that company assets total £15.2m.
Projects completed by the firm in recent months include:
- Demolition of the Kings Head Inn in Newquay
- Sand clearance at Porthmeor Beach
- Groundworks at St Ewe Eggs Plant, Ladock
As recently as four months ago, the company was celebrating their expanded fleet and general growth since 2022.
