Drone footage shows significant progress on the new Bingham Primary School, developed by Morgan Sindall
Morgan Sindall began construction work on the new Bingham Primary School development at the end of 2021.
They were appointed by Arc Partnership – a joint venture between Nottinghamshire County Council and SCAPE – to deliver the £6.3m project over a period of 53 weeks.
Dan Maher, managing director of Arc Partnership, said: “We’re delighted to be working in partnership with the Council, the C.I.T and our supply chain partner, Morgan Sindall Construction, to deliver real value together and continue playing a vital part in creating the best educational facilities for young people in Nottinghamshire.”
The primary school will form part of the new Roman Quarter housing development
The primary school is located within the council’s recent Roman Quarter housing development in Bingham.
The one-storey 1,405 sqft school will consist of seven classrooms, a multi-use games area (MUGA) and a hall that can be used as a dining area, as well as an indoor sports hall.
A number of sustainable features have been incorporated including high-efficiency lighting, air-source heat pumps and EV charging.
It will provide capacity for 210 students and 26 nursery places, it also has the potential to be extended to 315 places.
Morgan Sindall has built, improved or expanded 170 schools throughout the UK over the past five years, creating more than 65,000 student places.
Rob Cant, Morgan Sindall Construction’s Scape framework director, said: “We are well known for building primary schools that inspire learning and creativity in young people to give them the best start in their education.”
A recent topping-out ceremony was held to mark the completion of the main roof structure.
Work is due to be completed in August 2022, ready for opening in September 2022 for the new academic year.
