The UK’s largest built environment event, UK Construction Week 2024, is taking place from 1-3 October at the NEC in Birmingham

Organisers have highlighted some of the must-see events at UK Construction Week Birmingham 2024, which features the latest innovation and technology, cutting edge equipment and a wealth of keynote speakers and educational sessions.

Officially opened by architect and Channel 4 presenter, George Clarke, the multi award-winning show will feature over 200 exhibitors, 300-plus seminars, CPD sessions and workshops, and over 300 thought leaders and keynote speakers.

Nine things not to miss at UKCW Birmingham 2024:

Over 200 speakers across seven hubs

Visitors can hear from key construction business leaders and those driving the industry forward, including Mace chief executive Mark Reynolds, Keltbray managing director Michael O’Hagen and Infrastructure Projects Authority chief executive Nick Smallwood.

Networking is front and centre at UKCW

Attendees can attend daily sessions including BSF Building Safety workshops, the Women in Construction Networking Hour and the Opening Night Party, to meet with industry experts and professionals.

Connect with big name buyers in the new Finditin Big Buyers Lounge

The new Finditin Big Buyers Lounge will be a hive for networking opportunities with the chance to meet and have key conversations with multiple buyers from big name construction companies including Morgan Sindall, Equans, Speller Metcalfe, Interclass, Galliford Try, Henry Brothers, BAM Construction and Vinci Building.

Test out tools of the trade

Making its debut at the Birmingham show, Onsite On Hire will showcase the very best tools, compact plant and equipment that can either be hired via independent hire/rental outlets or purchased direct. Confirmed big name exhibitors include Hire Exchange, Speedy Hire, JCB, Makita and many more.

Raising the roof

Also making its first appearance at UKCW is the Roofing, Cladding and Insulation (RCI) Expo, which will showcase over 50 exhibitors including Insulfix, Easy-Trim, Frénéhard, SIG and Bové. Speakers include representatives from Tata Steel Building Systems, Vector Leak Consultants and Wates Construction.

Meet the Mayors of the West Midlands and East Midlands

Richard Parker (Tuesday 1st) and Claire Ward (Wednesday 2nd) will both attend ‘fireside chat’ Q&A sessions, where they’ll discuss their regions’ own commitments and priorities when it comes to the construction industry.

Try out the Net Zero Trail

The Net Zero Hub makes its UKCW debut, sponsored by Reconomy and partnering with National Retrofit Hub (who take over the talks programme on Day Two). Alongside this, the Net Zero Trail is another exciting new feature designed to showcase the latest innovations and sustainable practices driving the construction industry toward a Net Zero future.

Follow the trail through the show to exhibitors who are championing cutting-edge technologies, materials, and methods that are paving the way for environmentally responsible building practices.

A VIP ticket experience is also now available

UKCW Birmingham has a newly-launched VIP ticket, which gives visitors not only VIP parking close to the show halls, but entry into the VIP lounge with complimentary refreshments – ideal for networking and meetings away from the busy show floor.

The one-day passes are available for a limited time price of £99.
