The National Federation of Demolition Contractors (NFDC) and National Demolition Training Group (NDTG) have unveiled their new Hemel Hempstead headquarters

In acquiring the new 7,500 sq ft office building, located in Hemel Hempstead, the NFDC and NDTG have established a modern demolitions headquarters base able to accommodate both federation and membership growth, but also the delivery of industry events and dedicated training and development seminars.

The opening event was attended by over 60 industry representatives and the local MP, Mike Penning.

The NDFC brings together over 200 contractors and industry service providers to raise industry standards in demolition, ensure maximum safety on sites and promote learning and engagement.

The new demolition headquarters mark both an anniversary and a new era

Established in 1941, 2023 also marks the 45th anniversary of the NDTG, as it pursues a focus on the development of more people of all ages, with a special focus on ex-offenders, ex-forces personnel and other people returning to work or looking for their next step in life.

Having recently made a spate of new appointments in new CEO, Duncan Rudall, new president, John Lynch and 2nd Vice-President, Simon Barlow, the NFDC has undergone some progressive changes over the last quarter, as they embark on a ‘new age’.

Mike also opened the previous office in 2009 and has a long-standing affiliation with both the Federation and the wider Demolition Industry.

At the opening, the MP commented that “The future of the NFDC and NDTG is bright and needs to be at the heart of government policy in driving the required change and innovation.

“It is a brilliant industry to be a part of and work needs to be done to raise awareness amongst young people about the opportunities that exist. I congratulate the whole team on this achievement and support them over the coming years.”

Part of a ‘new age’ for the Federation

Reflecting on the new headquarters, new CEO Duncan Rudall said: “The investment in the new NFDC and NDTG headquarters is representative of the ‘new age’ of the Federation, as we continue to play a vital role in shaping industry standards, while ensuring we respond effectively and proactively to new challenges.

“The new building is part of our renewed strategy and something the leadership team and I are incredibly proud of. We now look forward to leveraging this space as much as possible and in increasing our membership engagement.”
