New co-located expos, new hubs and a dedicated hire industry showcase are just some of the features when the UK’s largest built environment event, UK Construction Week (UKCW), returns to Birmingham’s NEC from 1-3 October

Officially opened by architect and Channel 4 presenter George Clarke, the indispensable construction show attracts over 20,000 visitors from diverse backgrounds, including architects, builders, contractors and suppliers.

Visitors to UKCW span the UK and beyond, drawing international professionals seeking the latest industry trends, innovations and networking opportunities.

With this year’s theme of Growth, UKCW Birmingham will examine myriad topics across a range of stages and hubs, over three days of insight, innovation and inspiration.

The multi-award-winning construction show will once again be home to a plethora of educational, insightful and hands-on areas, including the Main Stage, Digital Construction Hub, Live Demo Theatre, Skills & Training Hub, Culture Change Hub and CPD Hub; all highlighting the most pressing topics across the sector.

Due to considerable demand, the new co-located Roofing Expo will showcase the latest solutions, engage in thought leadership and celebrate the roofing, cladding and insulation industry.

The new expo will connect Tier One contractors, suppliers and the wider industry while aiming to foster collaboration, exchange innovations and cultivate unparalleled business prospects. Confirmed key partners include the NFRC, Raise the Roof and National Federation of Builders.

With a focus on strengthening sustainability in the construction industry, the Net Zero Hub, sponsored by Reconomy, will also make its debut appearance at the October show.

The new area will be partnering with National Retrofit Hub, a non-profit collaborative organisation working with the industry to enable the delivery of housing retrofit across the UK, who will be programming panel discussions across the three days.

Onsite On Hire will also be co-located with UK Construction Week Birmingham; a new hire industry showcase designed to show the very best tools, compact plant and equipment exhibitors.

Sam Patel, divisional director – construction, commented:

“Onsite On Hire is an important addition this autumn, introducing a new stream of latest technology products to our engaged and knowledgeable show visitors – products that can either be hired via multiple and independent hire/rental outlets or purchased direct.”

Latest exhibitors at Onsite On Hire include Genquip Groundhog, specialising in solar welfare cabins, a business leading the way to help meet net zero targets on construction sites.

Solar Hybrid Solutions joins the Onsite On Hire showcase with the hire/rental of Trime solar hybrid generators and solar lighting sets.

Another new exhibitor is GaiaGroup UK with their hire/rental of energy management software that reduces energy consumption by 50%, with matching CO2 savings and cost reductions of 50% too.

MHM Plant Group specialise in the rental of Trime solar/hybrid generators and lighting sets with Trime UK handling all UK sales of their generators and lighting towers.

In addition to being shown on their own stand areas, selected products will be also shown on the Green Zone area at the show so construction visitors can see the very latest equipment in one area.

Uniquely, these companies and products when used together combine to manage the energy for a specific construction site to help meet their carbon reductions.

Josh Llewellyn, chairman at MHM Plant Group, said: “UKCW Birmingham is such a great fit for us, as it attracts such a wide range of end users.

“We already have Tier One constructors in the Midlands using our leading-edge systems, but now we’re opening out to a wider set of end users including contractors, who are increasingly looking into this digital space.

“UKCW Birmingham will allow us to do that.”

Across UKCW Birmingham’s three days, industry professionals and enthusiasts alike will have access to unparalleled networking, face-to-face meetings with high-profile brands and knowledge boosting seminars, workshops and CPD sessions, all of which will be announced in August.

The show will feature hundreds of leading brands, including Artex, Kingspan, SIG, Don & Low, Biffa, Fischer Fixings, Reco Surfaces, Hexagon, PlanRadar, BetonBlock, Build Warranty, MERS, Reconomy, Ford, Utility Parts, Roofing Today, and more.

UK Construction Week Birmingham is the catalyst for growth in the built environment sector, where real change can happen with the face-to-face connections forged between global players, policymakers and industry professionals across the three-day event.
