Tru7 Group has released footage of the M25 orbital bridge demolition, which reopened eight hours ahead of schedule
The M25 was closed between junctions 10 and 11 to allow for the demolition of the Clearmont bridleway orbital bridge in order to install a 128-tonne gantry.
The M25 Junction improvement scheme will add an additional lane to the connecting A3 towards the M25, as well as a larger roundabout with extra lanes.
The scheme will also create the UK’s first heathland bridge
The M25 orbital bridge demolition is the first of the planned five motorway closures, which National Highways says will increase capacity and in turn reduce pollution caused by traffic, as well as making it safer to enter and exit the M25.
Balfour Beatty and National Highways will install the Cockcrow Green Bridge, connecting Ockham and Wisley commons as a natural corridor for wildlife.
The M25 serves over 300,00 vehicles every day

“This was a complex operation, made even more challenging because of the unprecedented closure of the M25. Every effort was made to minimise the impact on road users through careful planning and close collaboration with National Highways.”
The Junction 10 improvement scheme is due to be complete in the summer of 2025.
