Legends Tower, part of the Boardwalk at Bricktown development in Oklahoma City, will be the tallest building in the USA at 1,907 ft

Matteson Capital and AO have announced plans to build what will become the new tallest building in the US and fifth tallest in the world.

The firms have requested a variance from the City of Oklahoma City to increase the height of one of the buildings at the Boardwalk at Bricktown development.

Three of the towers in the development will be 345 feet tall, with the fourth tower, referred to as Legends Tower, rising to 1,907 feet tall(or roughly 581 metres).  The symbolic height honors the year that Oklahoma was admitted as the 46th state of the United States.

Legends Tower will rise above a mixed-use development

The Boardwalk at Bricktown will encompass over 3 acres and over 2 million square feet of residential, hospitality, retail, dining and entertainment. The total development will host over a thousand hotel rooms, as well as 1,776 residential units ranging from market-rate to affordable workforce and luxury options.

Multiple roof-decks and a lagoon and water feature will add to the development’s atmosphere.

The top floors of the tallest building in the US will consist of a public observatory, restaurant and bar where visitors will be able to enjoy the sweeping city views.

Part of Oklahoma City’s renewal

“Oklahoma City is experiencing a significant period of growth and transformation, making it well-positioned to support large-scale projects like the one envisioned for Bricktown,” said Scot Matteson, CEO of Matteson Capital.

“We believe that this development will be an iconic destination for the city, further driving the expansion and diversification of the growing economy, drawing in investment, new businesses, and jobs. It’s a dynamic environment and we hope to see The Boardwalk at Bricktown stand as the pride of Oklahoma City.”
